Trade Wings Opens World-Class Reuse Logistics Facility in Germany

Class A Warehouse to Serve Growing Demand for Outsourced Services Among EU Customer Base

PORTSMOUTH, NH and BOCHUM, GERMANY – MAY 16, 2011 – Trade Wings, a leading provider of software-enabled services for the creation of profitable Reuse Markets in global telecommunications, today announced the opening of a new, state-of-the-art reuse logistics facility in Bochum, Germany.  The expanded facility was established to address growing demand for Trade Wings’ reuse services and ensure the rapid re-introduction of excess network material into the service chains of leading telecom OEMs and carriers in Europe.

The new facility features 21,500 square feet of Class A storage, two drive-in loading bays with hydraulic dock levelers, bonded customs warehouse-compliant security alarm system, and is centrally located to some of Europe’s main transportation/air hubs, including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Luxembourg.  Managed by Trade Wings’ highly trained team of reuse logistics experts, services include warehouse receipting, inspection, custom labeling, climate controlled storage, ESD-compliant pick, pack and ship, import/export documentation, and trade and compliance management.

Using Trade Wings’ sophisticated Re: software, the facility delivers the convenience and cost efficiency of outsourced logistics together with unprecedented visibility of network assets available for reuse or resale.  Employing wireless hand-held scanners and other advanced technologies, Trade Wings helps clients instantly connect physical inventories with real-time information on part numbers and aliases, quantities and condition as they are receipted into the warehouse to facilitate efficient, closed-loop supply chains.

“Our ability to ensure the substantial financial and sustainability gains of reuse practices in global telecommunications is predicated on our ability to provide end-to-end service to clients that may require a fully outsourced solution,” said Dirk Eberle, Vice President of EMEA Supply Chain Solutions at Trade Wings. “We work tirelessly to ensure that the lifecycle of every asset under management is put to highest and best use for every client, whether in a spares management program to reduce repair costs, stock transfer for last-time buy reserves, or resale on the open market.

The new facility is just one of the recent expansion initiatives that Trade Wings has implemented to help keep up with increased demand for telecom reuse services. Within the past eight months, Trade Wings has also established new facilities in North America, and signed service agreements with third-party logistics providers in the Nordics and Indonesia.
